DESIGNER OF THE YEAR
The Designer of the Year is the prestigious award initiated by Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend in 2006. Since 2023 Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend partner with FOR THE NOW to present the Designer of the Year and their work at FOR THE NOW. This collaboration stems from a shared commitment of providing a platform for Belgian design talent.
The design duo paulineplusluis, Pauline Capdo and Luis Bellenger, has been awarded the prestigious Designer of the Year 2024 title.
Based in Brussels, Pauline and Luis have garnered international recognition since their studies at La Cambre, thanks to their distinctive approach to industrial design. Their work is characterized by the reinterpretation of images that resonate in our collective memory and of ordinary materials through simple objects imbued with a narrative dimension.
Among the previous winners are Alain Berteau, Muller Van Severen, Vincent Van Duysen, Linde Freya Tangelder (Destroyers/Builders), Sylvain Willenz and Julien Renault who was present at FOR THE NOW in 2023.
