The collection consists of a series of case-study objects through which I mimic the process of outsourcing design to A.I. by having a basic shape uncontrollably deformed by one of the four natural elements each time. The creation process of these objects comes from intense experimentation, resulting in a raw and honest aesthetic. The aim of this project is to create a counter-movement against artificial intelligence, as it is increasingly used in creative practices. And thus raise awareness for a more tactile approach to design.
Joe Sterck operates at the intersection between design and sculpture. With his experimental approach, he challenges the generally accepted rules and trends of contemporary design and explores the limits of the functional.
