FOR THE NOW is a curated design platform, presenting both emerging and established Belgium based designers, working across design disciplines and with a variety of mediums. It is a unique opportunity to discover new design, meet upcoming talents, and acquire authentic design pieces.

DESIGNER OF THE YEAR 2024

The design duo paulineplusluis, Pauline Capdo and Luis Bellenger, has been awarded the Designer of the Year 2024 title.⁠ This prestigious award was initiated in 2006 by Knack Weekend and Le Vif Weekend.

At FOR THE NOW we invite visitors to join us in celebrating the new Designer of the Year. On the menu: an inspiring talk with paulineplusluis, a festive drink where you can also meet the designers, and the chance to discover some of their key works.

PANEL TALK

FROM UNSEEN TO UNSTOPPABLE: Breaking Barriers and Building Influence in the Design Space

How do designers overcome disparities, build momentum and create lasting impact? What strategies help them push boundaries while staying true to their core beliefs? In this panel, special guests Farida Sedoc, Nabil Aniss, Yoon Shun and Alex Akuete share their journeys and insights on getting through challenges and biases in the design industry.

SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE BY Toolbox & Anane

Three years ago, in casual sessions with producer Tom Bauwens (aka ToolBox), Joffrey Anane’s "Nonchalante Man" was born. Blending HipHop with UK garage, breakbeat, house, and dub, the album reflects both his musical journey and a deeper self-discovery. What began as a simple collaboration turned into a personal exploration, touching on Joffrey’s life-complex home dynamics, personal growth, financial struggles, sins, regrets, and issues like discrimination and racism. With contributions from Deadbeat Larry and Rikky Rozay, and edgy skits linking the tracks, "Nonchalante Man" is a cohesive, engaging reflection of his evolution.

DJ iNess (Bruzz ICE)

DJ iNess is a Brussels-based and Moroccan raised music fanatic and resident DJ for BRUZZ, the heartbeat of local radio in Brussels. She blends music from Fem R&B and Hip-Hop, Afro and Arab, to Soultronic, Funk and House. In the symphony of her mixes, she recreates the warmth of sunlight's loving embrace, each note like a gentle stroke upon your senses, shining light and good energy that only melody and lyricism can unveil.
