Tussenin

Mie Ghesquiere 1966, Belgium

Ceramic Artist | Educator | Founder of Tussenin House of Arts Mie started with ceramics began in 1993 under the guidance of Antoon Van Eygen. Over the years, Mie has worked in studios across Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the Philippines, and Thailand. She has participated in numerous workshops. This extensive experience has led to a profound understanding of clay’s expressive language.

Artistic Themes Mie's early work is inspired by the sea and its inhabitants—mysterious nautiluses, whimsical jellyfish, and fragile coral formations—all emerging with soft, dreamlike elegance. Her sculptures radiate calm and serenity, often laced with a subtle touch of humor. A consistent thread runs through all of Mie’s work: natural simplicity and fragile tenderness.
