Vanessa Yuan is an award-winning product designer. Born in Taiwan, she studied in Milan and graduated in 2005 with a Master’s in Product Design from the Domus Academy. Her professional career started in Milan, in Italian design studios, and evolved into project managing for the North American and Asian branches, as responsible for the shopfitting production of fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana, Brioni and Ermenegildo Zegna. In 2011, with Joris Vanbriel, they co-founded the design studio VYDC in Antwerp, Belgium. Since 2016, Vanessa and Joris manage their own circular design brand ecoBirdy. As the creative director of ecoBirdy, Vanessa's designs have won five international design awards and her work is on permanent display in the collections of the V&A museum in London, MAK in Vienna and the Design Museum Brussels, among others. She has a patent in her name for recycling and manufacturing plastics.
