Yani Vandenbranden is a young industrial product and furniture designer based in Gent.

As a designer, researcher, coach and speaker, she defines herself as a contextual designer. She believes design never exists in isolation—true change emerges when we understand how objects, spaces, interactions and processes interconnect, allowing us to develop solutions for a sustainable future.

She aims to counterbalance the "fast content design" that she perceives as bringing a haste to the design field; creating an oversaturation of novelty, uniqueness and desire. Through returning to honest simplicity and thoughtful design practices, she hopes to be a counterweight. Her work prioritizes design that elevates context above self-expression, design that enriches the spatial qualities of its environment.
